Summer Artist Residency Award
About
Rancho Linda Vista (RLV) invites 2D, 3D and mixed/multimedia visual artists to apply for its one-month Summer Artist Residency Award. We welcome serious emerging artists* from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, whose work demonstrates originality, commitment, and engagement in a bigger conversation about art. An MFA is preferred, but not required.
The Award offers a unique opportunity to develop a body of work in a beautiful desert setting, among a community of peers. A furnished one-bedroom house, separate studio, and $1,000 stipend are included, as well as access to our swimming pool, library, and shared spaces. There are also over 100 wilderness acres to explore and nearby cultural events to enjoy. Artists provide their own tools and materials, necessities, and means of transportation. At the conclusion, artists are invited to share their work in an open studio exhibit.
* As an emerging artist, you devote significant time, on a steady basis, to making art. You have a sizable, cohesive and evolving body of work, and have exhibited in public spaces. Art students and artists who have achieved substantial recognition are welcome to inquire about other residency options.
How to Apply
Applicants are asked to provide a letter of interest, résumé, and artist website link. The next application cycle opens in March and will be announced here and on Facebook, as well as on NYFA and regional listservs. The selection committee will inform all applicants of the final decision in or around the middle of May.
